The health of our employees and contractors is of vital importance. And it depends on excellence across the full spectrum of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ).
To uphold and encourage employee health, we actively promote a culture where our managers lead by example and our people demonstrate personal leadership.
Every other year, we carry out an employee satisfaction survey at all our locations – with the next survey due in 2015. Since 2006, we have worked with an internationally recognised analysis company to conduct the survey, thus ensuring the results can be compared with other European businesses via the European Employee Index® (EEI). And we implement initiatives based on the findings where required.
We carry out annual development conversations with all employees, evaluating expectations and possible areas of improvement. Agreements are made regarding personal/professional development for the following year. The conversations also provide room for a good dialogue on ‘soft’ values, including whether the individual employee feels that he or she is thriving or if there are areas their manager should be aware of.
